Samir do Nascimento Rodrigues de Carvalho is said to have turned up armed with a Glock pistol.
Spouse Amanda Fernandes Carvalho and their girl entered a doctor’s office.

They went in before he had called them in for their appointment at the cosmetic dermatology clinic on Wednesday (7 May).
The doc recalled how he was surprised when Amanda and her daughter came in early.
Mum-of-three Amanda, 42, looked visibly distressed as she told him: “My husband is here, he’s armed, he’s a police officer, and he wants to kill me because we’re separating.”

The doctor locked the office door, wedged two chairs against it, and held it shut in case the officer tried to break it down.
Amanda had already messaged a friend asking her to call the police, but the doctor told her to make another call.
Moments later, the doctor heard the receptionist telling him that the police had arrived and asking him to open the door.
He also heard a male voice saying: “You can open it, it’s the police, everything is under control.”
He opened the door slightly and moved behind his desk, as reported by Need To Know.

He saw a uniformed officer at the end of the corridor, followed by a burst of more than 10 gunshots.
He hid under his desk and only reemerged once Samir had been restrained by the police and his Glock pistol had been seized.
He saw Amanda lying on the floor covered in blood, with a knife stuck in her neck.
It transpired that when the police arrived at the clinic, Samir had reportedly lifted his shirt to show he was unarmed.
Their report says: “However, as soon as the doctor opened the door, the officer grabbed a gun from another room, came up behind the police officers, and fired multiple shots, hitting his wife and daughter.”
He then allegedly grabbed a knife and stabbed Amanda about 10 times, killing her.
Amanda’s daughter, who is a child model, was taken to a hospital with bullet wounds to her legs and left shoulder.
She is stable and out of danger.
Samir was taken to a local police station in Santos, Brazil, and was later detained on remand.

The police are investigating both Samir and the officers who failed to stop the killing.
Samir had been in the police for more than 20 years and he and Amanda, who worked in logistics, had been married for 15.
Her friend Janaína Beierle Rollo told local media: “He was always extremely jealous of her, and Amanda was someone who worked hard for everything she had.
“She was financially independent, more so than him.
“He used to pull her hair, hit her on the head, in places that wouldn’t leave visible marks.
“She would call me, and I’d have to go to her house in the middle of the night because he was threatening her.”
After the crime, one of Amanda’s children wrote: “Mum, my eternal queen. You’ll always be my role model. I hope we’ll be together again soon.”
