A young mother was shot 13 times in a bar in a case of mistaken identity.
Naila Valente Rodrigues was celebrating Mother’s Day when two men showed up on a motorbike.
They reportedly opened fire on the 26-year-old victim.

A man, named as Marildo de Souza Vieira, also 26, was also hit in the attack.
The suspects fled on the motorbike as witnesses helped the two victims.

Naila died shortly after arriving at hospital.
Marildo is still receiving treatment and there have been no further updates on his current condition, as reported by Need To Know.
The alleged shooting took place in Manaus, located in the Amazon Rainforest in northern Brazil, in the early hours of Monday (12 May).
According to witnesses, the gunmen were trying to target a woman named Yonara, who has similar physical characteristics to Naila.
It’s unclear why the alleged killers were targeting Yonara.

Apparently killed by accident, Naila leaves behind a five-year-old daughter who has now been orphaned.
In Brazil, Mother’s Day took place on Sunday (11 May).
Naila was celebrating the occasion with friends when tragedy struck.
No arrests have been made yet as the investigation continues.
