Maria, 32 stood no chance as it clattered into her from the side, knocking her and her bike onto the tarmac.
Her helmet was jolted off as the muscular animal powered on its way without so much as flinching.
Meanwhile, the hapless biker writhed around in pain as she lay battered and bruised in the middle of the road.
She eventually managed to sit up as passers-by ran over to assist her in Necochea, south of Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Luckily, drivers noticed her plight, stopped in time, and flashed their hazards to prevent further accidents.
Local media say medical help arrived a short while later on Monday (26 May) morning.
María was taken to hospital, where she was diagnosed with injuries to both legs, her right arm, and her spine.
Luckily, none of her wounds were serious, as reported by Need To Know.
The local authorities quickly identified the owner of the horse as a man living outside of Necochea.
He had reportedly given the steed to his underage son.
The boy’s mother – his legal guardian – has since been slapped with a fine.
The authorities may choose to press charges for reckless/negligent injury and failure to take precautions with animals.
One viewer said: “Thank goodness there is this video otherwise there is no way an insurance company would believe them.”
