A “UFO-type” object was spotted lurking in the night – and it’s left people baffled.
Various videos have surfaced showing peoples’ point of view when the sky suddenly illuminated.
In one clip, a vehicle travels down a quiet, dark pathway; when suddenly, a white ball of light drops from the sky.

While quick, it was too large to be missed.
The entire sky flashed bright white, as the ball of light disappeared behind a cloud.
Another clip came from CCTV outside of a building.
While the camera didn’t point directly at the sky, the luminosity of the object was clear to see.
The image produced by the camera went white as the sky lit up, before it returned back to its original darkness.
People sharing the phenomenon labelled what they saw to be “an unidentified luminous flying object or a meteor”.
One person even referred to it in the caption of their video as a “UFO”.
Witnesses also allege that there was a loud noise, which followed the illumination of the sky, as reported by Need To Know.
The bizarre moment occurred on 28 May at 9.33pm in Hainan, an island province and the southernmost point of China.
Places in the Guangdong Province, which is north of Hainan, also saw the unknown object.
Some people reported seeing the same thing in the city of Maoming, in southwestern Guangdong province, 166 miles away from Hainan.
Local press have revealed that Gou Lijun, who is from the National Astronomical Observatory of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, has weighed in on what this could have been.
Gou believes that this might be a meteor which fell into the Earth’s atmosphere.
According to him, most fireballs will usually just burn out of the sky.
