A woman who cried having her £4,500 Turkey teeth fitted says people now tell her she has ruined her smile.

Tara Omidi was in agony after a routine root canal treatment forced her to get two teeth removed.

Left feeling “insecure” after the UK dentist “failed” her, the 31-year-old started looking online for a fix.

Tara from Oldham, Manchester, soon found a dentist in Turkey with good reviews and a decent price tag.

But she hadn’t expected just how painful it would be.

The content creator, who has 45,000 followers, doesn’t regret her pursuit of a Hollywood smile – but has since come under fire from TikTok trolls.

“A UK dentist failed my teeth,” Tara told Need To Know.

“I ended up having to – through no fault of my own – have two teeth taken out.

“They were right at the back of my mouth and caused my remaining teeth to move away from the centre of my face, leaving me feeling very insecure when I spoke.

“People would make indirect digs and tell me I had ‘unique’ teeth or comment ‘Your teeth aren’t in the middle, are they?’

“It would make me so shy and I’d just crumble.

“I decided I was going to have them all shaved down, realigned and have crowns fitted.

“I researched into the best clinics and paid that extra bit more to make sure I got the result I wanted.”

Having heard about ‘Turkey teeth’ horror stories, Tara was “terrified”.

But the urge to fix her smile was stronger.

Tara said: “I felt really insecure, my job is social media and I’m known for being the happy, always laughing person.

“I was terrified about going to Turkey as you always hear the horror stories but I did my research and asked so many questions beforehand.

“I used WhatsApp to send over pictures of my teeth and went through a consultation online with the clinic.

“Then I flew over to Turkey within about eight weeks of booking the appointment.

“I was nervous flying out but knew that I hated how my old teeth made me feel, so I tried to keep that feeling in my head.”

The influencer reveals that although the procedure went smoothly it was much more painful than she thought.

She said: “Everything was fine.

“I felt I could trust the clinic as they were very thorough with their examinations and X-rays.

“But it was painful – the actual fitting.

“People do lie about it and make out it is a breeze!

“I cried having them fitted.”

Tara spent four days abroad, which included having the procedure, resting in her hotel room and attending a final check-in with the dentist.

She said: “Since leaving, everything has been great.

“They throbbed for the first two weeks but everything has been fine since.

“I love them – they have given me my confidence and smile back.

“Of course you get trolls online saying horrible things but being online, people think they have the right to say and do nasty things – I couldn’t care less.

“I do what makes me happy for me, not for other people.”

Tara shared a video to TikTok from her hotel room after she had her teeth filed down, which happens before the crowns are fitted.

She can be seen speaking to the camera about her experience.

The post has gathered over 330,400 views, 3,500 likes and hundreds of comments.
