A chainsaw was used by cops so they could cut down the front door of a drug crime suspect’s home.

One of the police officers fired up the petrol power tool on the doorstep.

He then sliced open the door but also cut into the frame.

A colleague then used a battering ram to smash it open.

The team of police officers then stormed into the pretty-looking, new-build property.

As they went in, one cop said: “Police, stay where you are.”

Members of the public reacted to the unusual way of forcing entry.

Rob Taylor added: “The back door was open.

“Should have gone round.”

One – named Bob – added: “Did you try knocking?”

A fourth claimed: “Cutting the frame feels personal.”

Michael Ward joked: “Must have tweeted something a bit mean.”

One quipped: “Dorothy 86-years-old, no TV License and a Firestick.”

Another said: “I love it when they say ‘Stay where you are’.”

Marton added: “Imaging if they got the wrong address.”

It was carried out on 3 July, as reported on Need To Know.

A Hertfordshire Police spokesperson said: Neighbourhood Policing Teams from East Herts supported

Essex Police colleagues with several drug warrants, two of which were executed at addresses in Bishops Stortford and Ware.

Sergeant Andy Crow said: “Drug dealing has a big impact on local communities.

“It directly leads to increased crime, such as violent incidents, shoplifting, burglary and vehicle theft, as well as litter and anti-social behaviour issues.

“It can also lead to the exploitation of children and vulnerable adults by the criminals who run drug supply lines.

“We will continue to work with our policing colleagues and local partners to take action and safeguard members of the public.”
