Tragic Gaia was knocked to the ground and banged her head.
An ambulance arrived at the scene quickly and paramedics spent more than 20 minutes trying to revive her.

She was still alive when the first responders arrived, but her injuries were too severe, and she died.
The horror unfolded in Porto Cervo, Sardinia, Italy.
Vivian Alexandra Spohr, 40, is the wife of Lufthansa CEO Carsten Spohr, as reported by Need To Know.
Her daughter was also in the car at the time.
They were holidaying on the affluent Costa Smeralda.
She had stopped at the crossing to let people cross, but it was just as she pulled away that Gaia stepped out, it is reported.
Witnesses told how she raised her hand and reached out towards the body of the SUV – almost touching it – as if to say: “Stop.”
Gaia was from Tempio Pausania, whose Prosecutor’s Office is now investigating.

Vivian Alexandra Spohr tested negative for alcohol and drugs, but investigators are still checking to see if she was allegedly using her phone at the time of the crash, on Tuesday (8 Jul).
She is not currently subject to any precautionary measures, but the BMW she was driving has been seized.
Gaia was a member of the folk group Quartiere Villanova from Cagliari and was passionate about traditional Sardinian clothing.
The group said: “You will always be in our hearts.”
