Brits have been warned to keep their doors closed at night over fire hazard – despite the return of scorching heatwave.
With the hot weather set to return to the UK, the public has been advised not to leave doors open, even in an attempt to cool off.
The warning has been put in place due to blocked doorways, helping stop the spread of housefires.
Footage showcasing the importance of shut doors also reveals a devastating fire in a utility room.
Firefighters for Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue have issued the warning to Brits.

In the clip, a member of the team opens a door to reveal a room which was engulfed by flames.
The walls and utilities were left completely black and covered in ash.
The shut door helped prevent the fire from spreading to the rest of the home, potentially saving lives.
The warning was issued on Tuesday (22 Jul) with the heatwave set to return in early August, as reported by Need To Know.
A spokesperson for Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue, stated: “This door equals a potential life saver as it held back fire and smoke.
“So please close all doors at night.
“Never block them.
“They really can save lives.”
Members of the public were left shocked by the footage.
Kaz Conway said: “This is why I keep all my doors closed, even in summer because the alternative is far worse.”

Tibby Gatsby added: “Oh my god, I always have mine open. This has changed my mind.”
Rosie said: “Wow, I never actually knew this was a thing we needed to do.”
Riley added: “I sleep with doors open, mind you I have three smoke alarms and they all work.”

Another said: “Don’t run machines during the night.”
