A former top-flight footballer has died of a heart attack on his morning run.
The tragedy unfolded on Wednesday (23 July) when Caius Lungu was out jogging with his brother.
Lungu, 36, suddenly began to feel unwell and collapsed.

Emergency responders rushed to the scene in Timișoara, Romania, and transported him to a local hospital.
But doctors were unable to revive him.
Lungu played for Voința Sibiu in Romania’s top division, Liga 1, during the 2011–2012 season.

A right-back or right midfielder, he was last signed with Ripensia Timișoara in 2023.
Over the years, he also played for Fortuna Covaci, CSM Râmnicu Vâlcea, CSM Reșița, Periam, Pobeda Star Bîsnov, and Colorno in Italy.
He leaves behind a wife and two children, as reported by Need To Know.
A spokesperson for Ripensia Timișoara said: “Caius was a man devoted to football, a respected teammate, and a valuable member of our squad.

“His sudden loss brings us great sorrow, and our thoughts are with his family, loved ones, and all who knew him.
“In these moments of grief, we offer our full compassion and support.
“Ripensia Timișoara will always keep his memory alive and honour his contribution both on and off the pitch.”
