An influencer fears her reborn doll has been possessed by the spirit of a dead teenager.
Marcela Iglesias bought the £350 doll from a British seller on Etsy to help cope with her son gaining independence.
Although her 24-year-old son Rodrigo still lives at home, Marcela says she longed for something to “nurture” again.

But her maternal instincts have led to something far more sinister.
And now she believes her beloved doll, named Sofia, is haunted.
“I recently took Sofia to visit the mysterious Island of the Dolls, and since I brought her back, the house hasn’t been the same,” Marcela, who has 1.2m Instagram followers, told Need To Know.
“At night, I hear soft footsteps – tiny, deliberate.
“At first, I thought it was the wind.
“But I realised it always stops right outside my bedroom door.
“A short while later, I started hearing whispers in the walls, like a lullaby spoken in a language I don’t understand.
“And when I follow the sound, it always leads me to Sofia’s room.
“The energy in the house has also shifted.
“My lights flicker when I speak her name.
“I once left the room with her on the shelf, and when I came back, she was sitting on the floor facing the mirror.
“No one else was home.”
Marcela has even woken up in the night to strange occurrences.
She said: “One night, I woke up to the sound of giggling – high-pitched and childlike.
“It echoed from the hallway.
“I got up, thinking maybe I left the TV on, but everything was off.”
The Island of the Dolls is located in the channels of Xochimilco, south of the centre of Mexico City, Mexico.
It is notable for its multitude of dolls of various styles and colours that can be found throughout the island.
Local legends surround the dolls, and the island’s reclusive former owner, Don Julián Santana Barrera, made the island a popular destination for dark tourism.
During Marcela’s visit, she took Sofia to a ceremony on the island.
She said: “During the roughly 20‑minute ritual, I sensed a strong energy.
“I heard strange noises and even a small voice saying ‘mami’.
“While there, the psychic said Sofia became Vanessa – the spirit of a 15‑year‑old girl who drowned on the island.
“Vanessa supposedly manifested this and wanted to come back with me.
“I didn’t think anything of it – but now I think I brought her home.”
While people online have dismissed Marcela’s experiences as figments of her imagination, the content creator insists she knows what she’s witnessing.
Marcela, who is based in Los Angeles, added: “There’s a presence in that doll.
“I didn’t just bring back a souvenir – I brought something ancient and aware.
“Something that’s watching and maybe even waiting.”
She says she plans on taking Sofia back to the Island soon and leaving Victoria’s spirit there.
