A horse lover has been found dead after being kicked in the face by one of her ponies.
Elisabeth Halg lived in a farmhouse where she cared for several nags.
A neighbour spotted her lying on the ground in the farmhouse’s courtyard on Wednesday evening (30 Jul).
She raised the alarm, and police and paramedics quickly arrived at the scene. They tried to revive Elisabeth, but it was too late.
She had a large wound on her face consistent with the impact of a horse’s hoof.
Investigators believe one of her young horses kicked her after becoming agitated for reasons still unknown.

The position of her body suggests she staggered away, dazed by the force of the blow, before collapsing unconscious.
It’s believed several hours passed before she was found in Banzola di Casina, in Italy’s Reggio Emilia province.
Elisabeth, 54, was originally from Switzerland but had been living in the area — where her family also comes from — for years.
Her body has been taken to Modena for a post-mortem, as reported by Need To Know.

Her partner later showed up at the police station in Casina after officers were unable to reach him for several hours.
He told police that the day before, he had gone fishing without his phone, which was being repaired.
Elisabeth was supposed to pick him up and drive him home, but she never showed — and he had no way of contacting her.
He reportedly fell asleep outdoors while waiting, before walking home the next morning.
When he found no sign of Elisabeth there, he went to the police to report her missing.
