A British couple were arrested after being caught with a large quantity of cocaine in their car at a popular holiday destination.
The arrests took place on Monday (28 Jul) at around 8:30 p.m.
Police spotted the vehicle approaching their checkpoint but noticed it suddenly made a suspicious turn.

Officers decided to intercept the car and tested the 57-year-old driver for intoxicating substances.
He tested positive for cocaine.
His nervous behaviour raised further suspicions that more drugs might be hidden in the vehicle, which was stopped in Jávea on Spain’s Costa Blanca.

A sniffer dog was brought in and, within minutes, located two plastic bags concealed in a secret compartment behind the front passenger seat.
Inside, officers found 48 grams (1.69 oz) of cocaine — a significant amount beyond personal use.
The driver and his passenger, a 37-year-old woman, were both arrested on suspicion of drug trafficking.
Additionally, the man faces charges for driving under the influence of narcotics, as reported by Need To Know.
Police confirmed both suspects are British nationals.
Their names have not been released, and it remains unclear whether they were on holiday or living in Spain.
