A 22-year-old woman was beaten to death after she refused to leave a party with a drug dealer, according to reports.
Sther Barroso dos Santos was attacked in the early hours of Sunday (17 August) morning after she attended a “baile funk” party where one of her favourite artists was performing.
Relatives said she had refused to leave the event with a known criminal.

She was allegedly tortured and killed.
Her disfigured dead body was then left on her own doorstep by two men acting on orders from Bruno da Silva Loureiro, known as Coronel (Colonel), according to reports.
Sther was taken to a hospital in Rio de Janeiro but staff said she was dead when she arrived.

Police are now investigating whether Coronel ordered the killing.
Officers said he had a long criminal record, including drug trafficking, robbery, homicide with a firearm, gang membership, possession of restricted weapons, handling stolen goods, car theft, and assault.
He is believed to be part of the feared Terceiro Comando Puro (Pure Third Command) gang.
Sther’s family said she was experiencing a period of personal achievements.
She was getting her driving licence and was preparing to move into a new flat.

The family had left the Muquiço favela – controlled by Coronel – and moved to Vila Aliança to start afresh after being robbed.
Sther’s sister said: “My sister dreamed of becoming a mother to a boy, of getting married.
“And now, what am I supposed to do with my life without her?”
Sther kept a notebook where she had written down her goals for the year, as reported by Need To Know.

Among them were finishing driving school, taking three courses, adopting a dog, going to the gym more often, and thanking God every day.
She had also written that she wanted to see her brother released from jail.
One entry read: “This is going to be the best year of my life, I just know it!”
The case is under investigation and no arrests had been made at the time of reporting.
