An 85-year-old man was rushed to hospital with a lightbulb stuck up his bum.
His daughter raised the alarm after finding him in severe pain and bleeding heavily from the rectum.
Paramedics arrived at his home in Lecce, southern Italy, and discovered he had a foreign object lodged in his anorectal region.

He was taken to the emergency ward at Lecce’s Vito Fazzi Hospital, where stunned doctors discovered the miscellaneous item was a lightbulb.
The pensioner did not explain how it had ended up there, but admitted he had tried to prise it out with a screwdriver – only making matters worse.
The botched attempt caused injuries to his rectal lining, raising the risk of complications including perforation, infection, and even sepsis.
The drama happened on Tuesday (19 Aug) morning , as reported by Need To Know.

Under sedation, medics carried out an endoscopic procedure to delicately remove the bulb – still miraculously intact – with surgical forceps.
He was later moved to the general surgery ward for observation, given his advanced age and the micro-abrasions caused by his failed DIY effort.
The cause of the bizarre accident remains unclear, though doctors suspect it may have been an erotic experiment gone wrong.
Local reports say the man is now recovering.
