A luckless cyclist was poleaxed after failing to spot a bright yellow barrier as he zoomed down a hill.
The man came along the path which runs down the side of houses on a residential estate.
But he didn’t see the gate right in front of him, even though it was painted in the vivid colour.

The impact hit his chest, and he was knocked off his bike, and there was a loud crash.
He fell to the floor and was doubled over in agony, and sounded in pain.
Luckily, two men from a building site just feet away heard him and checked he was okay.
They stood over him and made sure he was alright, and picked up his bike.
The crash was captured on a Ring security camera of a house next to the pathway.
The two-minute and six-second video then came to an end.
It happened in Sheffield, last Tuesday (19 Aug) at 7:28am.
It is not the first time it has happened, but the barrier is now a bright hue to make it more visible.
In 2023, three people – two on bikes and one on an electric scooter – suffered similar fates.
One local told Need To Know.: “I’m not sure how he’s done it.
“I don’t know how he couldn’t see it now, it’s a big yellow gate.”
In March 2023, an e-scooter rider ploughed into it.
Just six months later, another cyclist pedalled into it at high speed.
Then, in November of that year, another rider was flung over it in a similar accident.
