Two married couples have been killed in a horror crash while driving home from visiting family and friends abroad.
The victims, who lived in the UK, were returning from their native Romania when tragedy struck in the early hours of this (28 Aug) morning.
Constantin “Costi” Nedelea lost control of his car on a bend and veered into nearby woodland, according to reports.

The vehicle smashed into several trees before coming to rest on its side around 30 metres from the road.
An automatic alert from one of the victims’ phones brought emergency crews racing to the scene – but all four were pronounced dead.
They were named as Costi, 32, his wife Ionela, his cousin, 31, and the cousin’s wife Emilia.

The women were aged 32 and 30, though it is not yet clear which age corresponds to which victim.
The crash happened on the L3229 between Reinhardshagen-Veckerhagen and Grebenstein, in Germany’s Kassel district, as reported by Need To Know.
Police told German media that Costi, driving downhill, may have spotted the bend too late: “He tried to brake but then veered off the road to the right.”
But his brother Ionuț told Romanian press: “We called the German police, and they said it was likely he either fell asleep at the wheel or a wild animal appeared on the road, and he swerved.”

The exact cause of the accident is still under investigation.
Costi, originally from Cilibia, had moved to England at 18 and worked his way up to become manager of an agricultural machinery company.
Now the grieving families are fundraising to bring their loved ones’ bodies back to Romania.
“All I want is to see my boy brought home, to bury him, and to be able to visit his grave and light a candle,” Costi’s heartbroken father said.
