A masked mob with a ladder were slammed by a patriotic man after they were spotted removing Union Jack flags in a city centre.

The group yanked down one and then spotted another they were going to remove.

The country-proud local confronted the group of 10 people wearing COVID-style face coverings.

He said: “What you doing?

“Why you pulled that flag down?”

One of them replied: “Don’t worry about it.”

The man said: “Why are you pulling down the flags of the country?

“Of our country.

“English people put them up.”

The group member said: “Why do you think English people put them up?”

St George’s Cross flags and Union Jacks have been put up around the nation in the last month.

The Operation Raise the Colours is to promote patriotism.

Some see it as a response to immigration policy, but others think it promotes racism.

The angry man said: “Because it’s England maybe?

“This is ridiculous.

“Look at you all covering your faces with embarrassment.

“If you don’t want to live here, then don’t live here.

“Why are you taking down flags of our own country?

“It’s absolutely crazy.”

Another member of the mob said: “I’m sure you’ve got better things to do with your time.”

But the local said: “You are all covering your faces because you should be embarrassed.

“Look at what you are doing?”

It happened in Dyke Road, Brighton, yesterday (4 Sept), as reported on What’s The Jam.

The member of the group said: “Why are you getting so mad over a flag?”

But the man responded: “What do you mean?

“Why are you getting mad, you’ve bought a ladder out her to climb up poles to pull them down.

“It’s a flag of the country, it’s a flag of the nation.

“What could it symbolise apart from England?”

The mob member said: “Are you serious?”

The man replied: ”I’m deadly serious, I’m well aware of what is happening

“This is wrong, this is wrong.”

Four of the group supported the ladder while another clambered up it.

He added: “I’ve not been rude or sworn at you.

“Keep your masks on your faces, you are an embarrassment.

“An embarrassment.”

Fellow local Michael Cooper said: “One man standing up for his country, well done mate.”

Julia White added: “Well done for speaking up and confronting them.”

Greg Johnson said: “What a sad bunch of wet wipes.”

Angela joked: “Good help us, if they have to go to war.”

Another fumed: “Why do these weirdos all look like clones from the same woke factory?

“Scruffy hair, masks to hide their embarrassment, backpacks full of nothing but entitlement, and that ladder climb like it’s Everest.

“Probably never done a real day’s work in their lives.

“Brainwashed lefties hating on England while sponging off it, classic.

“Well done to the bloke calling them out.”
