A moggy missing for over a week has been found after getting caught in a trap.
The puss, called Benjie, had no food.
But he survived after drinking rainwater.
He vanished from his home in Thirlmere, Macclesfield, leaving his owners distraught for eight days.
The beloved pet was finally discovered trapped in a tiny cage in a nearby garden, unable to move or access food.
Luckily, rainwater kept him hydrated, but the ordeal left Benjie thin, stiff, wet and traumatised.

He also suffered a head wound.
Animal welfare officers are now investigating the case, as reported by Need To Know.
An RSPCA spokesperson said: “Benjie has been found. He has been trapped in a squirrel trap for eight days.

“No food, not enough room to turn around, luckily, he was able to have water from the rain.
“He is thin, stiff, wet and cold and no doubt traumatised.
“He has a head wound too, but he is alive.
“Absolutely horrendous for poor Benjie.

“At least he’s been found.
“This is being investigated.
“Squirrel traps are legal, unfortunately, but misuse of them can be illegal.
“How anyone can set a trap intentionally in their garden or anywhere else, for that matter, and not regularly check it is just terrible.”
