A prominent influencer in the Gaza Strip who was dubbed ‘Mr FAFO’ has been shot dead.
Saleh Aljafarawi sparked anger after filming a video praising the Hamas attack on Israel on 7 October 2023.
Later, he filmed himself sobbing in reaction to Israel’s airstrikes.

Pro-Israel activists then dubbed him Mr FAFO, meaning ‘f*ck around and find out’.
In the following months, Saleh appeared in several viral videos where he allegedly impersonated a wounded patient, a doctor, a journalist, and a Hamas fighter.
During the conflict, the US activist group Students for Justice in Palestine posted an image of Saleh on Instagram with the caption: “Death to the occupation. Death to Zionism. Death to collaborators.”
He was reportedly killed during in armed clash between Hamas and the Doghmush clan in Gaza City yesterday (12 Oct).

He suffered a fatal head wound.
According to anti-Hamas activist Ahmed Fouad Alkhatib, he was accompanying Hamas’ ‘Saham’ unit, possibly as a cameraman.
Alkhatib also accused the influencer of pocketing millions of dollars in donations intended for citizens in Gaza, as reported by Need To Know.
He said: “Controversial Gaza activist, derogatorily called ‘Mr FAFO’ due to his performative antics and well known for his support of Hamas.
“And raising an estimated $10m to build a children’s hospital, only to pocket the money, Saleh Aljafarawi, was killed today by unknown assailants.”
He added that he was “killed by three possible players in Gaza.
“Hamas to steal his digital wallet and instigate a civil war; the Doghmush clan because he participated in Hamas raids against them.
“Or anti-Hamas fighters because he was a terror propagandist.”

He claimed: “His body showed signs of torture.”
The Palestinian-led protest group Within Our Lifetime, based in New York, said the influencer was “murdered earlier today by Zionist collaborators in Gaza after having a target on his back by the occupation for months”.
The group shared part of what is believed to be Saleh’s last will and testament where he told followers: “I urge you to hold fast to the resistance, to the path we walked, and the cause we believed in.
“We have known no other way for ourselves, nor found any meaning in life except by remaining steadfast upon it.”
Rama Duwaji, the wife of New York City mayoral frontrunner Zohran Mamdani, shared a post about the “beloved” influencer on Instagram Stories where he was pictured wearing a press jacket alongside four broken-heart emojis.
