A trucker who allegedly dodged 536 tolls this year alone has had his lorry seized.
Traffic police stopped him yesterday (15 Oct) morning.
It quickly emerged that he was suspected of racking up an average of around 13 unpaid tolls a week.

In addition to other offences, the debts were more than £20,475.
According to the police report, officers were patrolling km 58 of the Rodoanel Mário Covas ring road in São Paulo, Brazil, when they spotted the trucker speeding.
They were only able to stop him eight kilometres later at the km 50 toll booth, as reported by What’s The Jam.
Officers searched the driver and the Volkswagen Delivery Express DRC 4X2, registered in São Bernardo do Campo, but found nothing illegal.
However, checks with central systems revealed the vehicle’s registration had expired and confirmed it had been involved in hundreds of toll evasions, they say.
The lorry was seized and taken to an impound lot in São Bernardo do Campo.
The trucker – dubbed the Toll evasion champion – was released but is now under police investigation.
His identity has not been revealed.
