Turnstile is in reference to an aviation trick that’s also called “turns around a point”.
He described himself as a private pilot, an aerobatic pilot, and a flight instructor.
He was also the president of the San Felipe Flying Club.
Fernando crashed in the rural commune of Putaendo, located north of Santiago, Chile, on Wednesday (29 Oct).

On social media, the stunt pilot often shared clips of himself performing aviation tricks in his small plane.
Just hours before his death, he said on Instagram Stories: “Nothing better than a hot dog with the taste of motor oil.
“Back in the air in a little while.”
Fernando first went viral in 2023 when he shared footage of an emergency landing he had to make 13 years previously, as reported by Need To Know.
During the incident in February 2010, he was transporting three passengers in a Cessna 172 four-seat aircraft towards San Felipe.
The plane suddenly lost its propeller, and he informed the passengers, “This is a real emergency, stay calm,” before turning around and carrying out the emergency landing.
The investigation into this week’s fatal crash is being conducted by the General Directorate of Civil Aeronautics (DGAC).
