A brave spaniel is lucky to be alive after horrifically impaling herself on a stick during a walk.
Bella was rushed to the vets, where she was taken straight into theatre for an emergency operation.
Shocking images of the ordeal were posted on the practice’s Facebook page on 19 November, as reported by Need To Know.

Staff members Louise, Eve, Tracy, Eliza, Naomi and Anna teamed up to operate on Bella and nurse her back from the brink.
Miraculously, despite the horrific injury, the pooch has now made a full recovery.

And Martock Surgery in Somerset confirmed she is “doing absolutely amazing”.
More than 1,500 social media users piled into the comments after seeing the grim photos.
One person said: “Oh my, all the vets involved have done an absolute amazing job, pats on the back for you all.
“That would have been so scary for everyone involved, but a huge well done, Soo glad Bella is on the road to recovery.”
Another wrote: “Holy-Moly! Well done to the whole team, hope Bella continues to recover well xx.”

A third added, “Thank goodness this baby girl is okay, amazing work.”
Someone else said, “My heart dropped on the floor after seeing this! Poor little one, speed recovery, you are very brave.”
Another astonished commenter posted: “Oh Gosh, this is so terrifying! Well done for saving her.”

Just to add a correction the Practice Bella attended was our Martock Surgery in Somerset not Taunton. Well done to all the Team who treated Bella. We are so pleased she made a great recovery.
