After 18 months’ service, she was granted several days of leave and went to stay with a female friend.
The tragedy happened in the resort city of Cartagena, north of Medellin, Colombia.
The servicewoman came from Soacha near Bogotá.
The 24-year-old was found dead in the courtyard below.
After the case was initially considered suicide, the victim’s mother Yuli Pabón said: “Leidy was a young woman without mental problems, without disorders.
“She was simply dedicated to fulfilling her dreams.

“We are from Chocó, but my three children were born in Bogotá and come from an educated, noble, normal, stable family, without any problems.
“She didn’t have any issues or situations that troubled her, she only came to Cartagena to spend a few days with a friend.”
The mother said she spoke with Leidy about 15 minutes before she fell to her death, aa reported on NeedToKnow.
She claimed there were several other people with her at the time.
“When my daughter called me for the last time, I suddenly felt agitated.
“The call suddenly cut off and I tried again for a few minutes.
“She didn’t answer, and I started to panic.
“About 15 minutes later, Leidy’s friend called me, and then someone called me from my daughter’s mobile phone to tell me she had jumped from the 18th floor of the building.”
The victim died on 16 October.
Her mother gave an update on the case on Wednesday (26 Nov).

Yuli had travelled to Cartagena to speak with investigators.
She said she saw several videos taken by neighbours in the building.
Yuli stated: “The videos show my daughter trying to get away from someone.
“We learned that she had previously been on the 23rd floor with two foreigners and the friend she went to see.
Yuli has called on the authorities to clarify what happened, review the building’s CCTV footage, and prevent Leidy’s death from going unpunished.
She added: “My maternal instincts tell me that my daughter didn’t take her own life, I want the truth to come out.”
The investigation is ongoing.
