A 12-year-old schoolgirl has been arrested on suspicion of stabbing an 11-year-old peer to death.
Danusia Jurkiewicz was found dead on 15 December on a street near the school that both she and the suspect attended.
She had stab wounds across her body, the most severe around her neck near the carotid artery.

When emergency responders arrived, she showed no signs of life. They attempted resuscitation for more than 20 minutes, but were unsuccessful.
The suspect was arrested shortly after the attack in Jelenia Góra, south-western Poland.
The alleged motive is still under investigation, but preliminary information suggests the girls had argued.
They were known to each other by sight but were not close friends and were in different classes, as reported by Need To Know.

The arrested girl allegedly brought kitchen knives and a scout knife to school on the day in question.
She is suspected of using the scout knife to attack Danusia after lessons.
The Polish Scouting and Guiding Association paid tribute to Danusia, describing her as “full of energy, smiles, and sincere commitment to the life of the troop.
“Scouting was very important to her – she was proudly preparing to receive her permanent colours and was soon due to take the Scout Promise.”
Her headteacher, Paweł Domagała, also paid tribute: “She was a wonderful, talented girl, achieving very high academic results.

“An exemplary pupil, taking part in school volunteer activities and supporting other students. She was involved in all kinds of competitions and sports events.
“Versatile and cheerful – a very gifted pupil. Her loss is enormous for all of us.”
Danusia’s funeral was held in Jelenia Góra on Saturday (20 Dec). Psychological support has been provided to her parents.
The suspect has reportedly been placed under observation in hospital and is expected to be discharged soon.
Further proceedings are being handled by the Family Court in Jelenia Góra.
