He then violently thrust his forehead into the face of the officer after repeatedly asking: “under arrest for what?”.
Others officers in attendance then grappled him to the floor and told him he was also under arrest for assaulting an emergency worker.
The arresting officer went to hospital where it was confirmed his nose was broken, as reported by Need To Know.
While in custody, O’Sullivan continued to hurl racist abuse at a second officer for over 15 minutes.
O’Sullivan, of Eastleigh Road, Eastfield, Peterborough, Cambs admitted assault causing actual bodily harm and racially aggravated harassment.
He was jailed for 27 weeks.
Afterwards PC Amy Sibson said: “O’Sullivan’s behaviour during this incident was disgraceful.
“The assault was completely unprovoked.
“The officer acted professionally and politely, but O’Sullivan responded by attacking him.
“The prolonged racist abuse was disgusting and completely unacceptable.
“We won’t tolerate attacks on our officers or abuse such as this. I’m pleased O’Sullivan has now appeared in court and been jailed for his actions.”
