An armed gang that used cartoonish masks and wigs to burgle luxury homes in a Brit expat hotspot has been busted.
Police launched a major probe following a spate of home burglaries on Spain’s Costa del Sol.
Officers say the gang targeted wealthy individuals, following them to identify their homes and plan their robberies.

They would then break in wearing disguises, including latex masks, to hide their identities, and make off with valuables.
The suspects were found to own several properties in Marbella and Mijas.
Searches of these homes led to the arrest of five gang members on suspicion of burglary, as reported by Need To Know.

Officers seized three firearms, boxes of ammunition, two stolen high-end vehicles, seven altered number plates, multiple luxury watches, and €39,465 (£34,200) in cash, among other items.
The total value of the recovered goods exceeded €80,000 (£69,300) and they have been returned to their rightful owners.
Further investigations identified 11 additional members of the gang, who are now also under investigation for burglary.
Spain’s Civil Guard said in a statement on Monday (12 Jan): “Five people have been arrested and another 11 are under investigation, mostly of Albanian nationality, for burglaries in private homes.”
