A man who lost an amazing nine stone in just 10 months has revealed the best injection spot for weight loss jabs and why.
Marc McKee started taking Mounjaro after doctors warned that his health was “heading in a dangerous direction”.
The podcast host, 34, was suffering from dangerously high blood pressure and cholesterol, as well as early signs of damage to his liver, kidneys and heart.

“I was told clearly that if nothing changed, I might not live to see 40,” Marc told Need To Know.
“That was the first time it stopped being about weight as a ‘lifestyle’ issue and became about survival.
“It made me realise I was not just risking confidence or comfort, I was risking my future.

“It was no longer about weight or appearance, it was about whether I was going to live a long, healthy life.”
Around the same time as the doctor’s caution, he became an uncle for the first time – and says holding his nephew “changed something” in him.
Marc, from Belfast, Northern Ireland, said: “It made the consequences of doing nothing feel very real.
“I wanted to be present – I wanted to be here for the long term.
“That moment, combined with the medical warning, pushed me to seek proper, medically supported help rather than continuing cycles of dieting that had failed me for years.”
At his heaviest, Marc weighed 23.4 stone.
He became one of the first people in the UK to use a GLP1 treatment in August 2024.

He has also made a number of lifestyle changes and is receiving ongoing medical support.
Since 2024, Marc has lost nine stone and now weighs 14.7 stone.
He explained: “More importantly than the weight loss, my health markers have dramatically improved.
“My blood pressure and cholesterol have normalised, organ function has been restored, and my cardiovascular risk has significantly reduced.”
Marc says he opted for Mounjaro over dieting as that was “not solving the real problem”.
He said: “I had tried everything: structured diets, calorie tracking, gym programmes, and intense periods of discipline.
“I could lose weight, but I could not sustain it, and the cycles of losing and regaining left me feeling exhausted and defeated.
“When my health started to decline, I knew I needed medical support, not another plan built on willpower.

“Mounjaro felt like a tool that finally addressed what was happening in my body – appetite regulation, cravings, and constant food noise – rather than treating me like I was simply failing at discipline.”
Marc regularly shares his experience with Mounjaro and weight loss online to his more than 400,000 followers.
One video, discussing the best spot to inject the drug, went viral, garnering more than 340,000 views, over 2,000 likes and hundreds of comments.
In the video, Marc said: “I have tried every single injection site – so the stomach, the arm, the leg.
“For me, the leg was the one that felt the most consistent.
“My cravings felt steadier, fewer rough days, just less of that up and down feeling through the week.”
However, Marc added that this can be different for everyone and his advice would be to try different spots and see what works best for you.
He added that injecting in different spots was “one of the biggest learning curves” for him.
He said: “I had injected in my stomach and arms previously.
“The arm never did anything for me personally.
“The stomach was OK at times, but it felt inconsistent.
“For me, the thigh was completely different.
“It gave me almost instant appetite suppression, I had no side-effects, and the results stayed consistent across the full week.
“I think a lot of it comes down to biology and fat distribution.
“This medication is injected into fatty tissue and releases over time, so finding an area with the right amount of fat can make a difference in how steady that ‘release’ feels for you.

“For me, the thigh has always been that place, and I hear so many other people say the exact same thing.”
In addition to the helpful tip, March spoke about the impact that his weight loss journey has had on his confidence and self-image.
He added: “It has been life-changing, but not just in the way people assume.
“Yes, physically I feel different, but the biggest shift is internal.
“I have more energy, I move more easily, and I feel present in my life again.
“My confidence is not just about how I look and fitting into clothes and brands I never could have before, it is about feeling like I have control back, like my body is not fighting me every day, and like my future is not shrinking.
“It has given me peace. And that is something I did not expect.”
