As well as voice acting, he starred in Netflix productions such as Luis Miguel: The Series, The House of Flowers, and The Widows of Thursdays.
Ortega was also an accomplished theatre actor.

The Mexican star’s death was announced by the Anime Latin Dubbing Awards.
They said in a statement: “We regret to announce the passing of actor Alexis Ortega.
“We send our condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues.
“May he rest in peace, and we will always remember him for his incredible performances.”
His untimely passing shocked colleagues in the industry, as he had continued his activities as normal until a few days ago.
Voice actor Lalo Garza said: “We were working together just two weeks ago.
“What terrible news, RIP Alexis Ortega.”
So far, his family and co-workers have not yet revealed the cause of his death.
Alexis’s recent social media activity did not suggest he had any kind of health problem.

“I’m surprised because he was so young and looked so healthy,” added another fan.
Argel remarked: “We’re going to miss you, Spider-Man.”
Ortega’s last social media post was on 7 November 2025 when he shared a photo of himself lying with his dog on the sofa.
He simply captioned it: “My doggo.”
His death followed the passing of fellow Mexican voice actor Gloria Rocha last Wednesday (14 Jan), as reported by Need To Know.
Her career spanned five decades and indelibly marked the childhoods of millions of people.

Affectionately known as “The Godmother” in the industry, she was the voice of Miss Piggy during The Muppet Show and Olive Oyl in the animated series Popeye the Sailor.
She also portrayed the Sorceress of Castle Grayskull in the cartoon series He-Man and the Masters of the Universe and She-Ra and the Princesses of Power.
She played Velma Dinkley in the Scooby-Doo franchise and Tweety the loveable canary from the Looney Tunes series.
She passed away in the Mexican capital Mexico City on her 94th birthday.
