A tourist is in critical condition after being struck on the head by a speedboat propeller.
Andrea Verardini Prendiparte shared a video post just hours before the serious accident.
The 57-year-old filmed his two travelling companions on a boat trip.
The tourist, who was travelling across northern Colombia, said: “From the Baru Peninsula to the beautiful Rosario Islands.”
Hours later, he was struck by the boat propeller while swimming in the sea off the Rosario Islands on Saturday (31 Jan).
According to reports, Andrea and his two friends arrived in the Colombian coastal city of Cartagena on 28 January.

He posted a video of the city while apparently enjoying a boat cruise that evening.
The Italian tourist then shared a clip of him watching the salsa band Grupo Niche in a Cartagena bar.
From there, the trio went to the Baru Peninsula.
He said it was a “charming place with rooms right next to the sea”.
Two days later, he suffered the devastating maritime accident in the Rosario Islands.
The propeller of a passing speedboat struck his head and he was hospitalised in a critical condition, as reported by Need To Know.
At the time, he was allegedly in an area where signage warns that swimming is prohibited.
Meanwhile, the speedboat involved, said to be out of service, was seized by the police.
Andrea continues to fight for his life in the ICU of the Medihelp clinic in Cartagena.
The local authorities have confirmed that they are investigating the circumstances leading up to the accident.
