A shoplifter was dropped to the floor by security guards after snatching Primark items off the rack.

The crazy clip shows the thief attempting to flee from one staff member, who chucks him to the floor.

The suspect can be seen being swung around before being dropped to the ground by security.

The shocking footage was taken outside a Primark store in Birmingham city centre, as reported by Need To Know.

The man was detained by security before police arrived and arrested him on yesterday (4 Mar).

The suspect in his 20s was arrested on suspicion of theft.

A duo of security staff pursued the man outside of the store.

The shoplifter dropped a number of goods in the road as members of the public watched on in shock.

The man in the grey top then attempted to make a break for it, with one of the guards acting swiftly to stop him in his tracks.

The suspect was flung down a set of stairs before being detained as they awaited the arrival of the police.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Police stated: “We were called to Moor Street Queensway yesterday (4 March) after shop staff detained a man.

“A man in his 20s was arrested on suspicion of theft from a shop and remains in custody today while our enquiries continue.”

Members of the public were left shocked by the clip.

One person said: “Residents of Birmingham have got a brum deal.”
