An artist has paid homage to Banksy by imitating his iconic artwork on the beach.

Fred Brown recently used a rake to create a huge version of one of the mysterious underground artist’s most famous pieces.

The 54-year-old sketched the Kids on Guns work from 2003.

The piece appeared in the sand of Scarborough beach following the recent missile launches involving the USA, Israel and Iran.

Fred, from York, completed the piece on Wednesday (4 Mar), as reported by Need To Know.

Kids on Guns by the Bristolian street artist, highlights the loss of innocence in war-torn areas.

The piece shows two children holding one another, while one holds a balloon and the other a teddy bear.

The pair of kids are standing on a pile of weapons, making for a very striking image.

Fred said: “Some Banksy artwork from 2003.

“Drawn on Scarborough’s beach with a rake earlier today.

“Unfortunately, the theme doesn’t get old.”

The York-based artist has grown a large following for his artwork, with over 10,000 followers across social media.

From imitating Banksy to shedding light on animal rights issues, Fred also uses his talent to raise awareness for the world’s problems.

One of his latest pieces stunned seaside visitors after he created a gigantic, lifelike fox etched into the sand.

Members of the public were blown away by the artwork.

One person said: “Love it, we came on Wednesday and noticed it when walking on the beach so me and the daughter had to walk up to the bridge to have a look.”

Another added: “Amazing, how on earth does he get the perspective – drone?”

A third said: “How is he doing that? It’s amazing.”

One person added: “Gorgeous graphic.”

Another person said: “This is an Art Attack.”
