An influencer has been left with severe facial injuries after a horror road smash.
Amy Vela admitted she lost control of her car while driving at high speed around a bend.
The 25-year-old content creator, who has 33,000 followers online, was flung from the vehicle when it flipped over, as she was not wearing a seatbelt.
“I like adrenaline, and while taking a curve, I lost control of the vehicle, which caused it to roll over,” she said.
The accident happened in Monterrey, Mexico, as reported by Need To Know.
Amy’s passenger, Mario Monsivais, escaped unharmed, but she suffered multiple serious injuries, including fractures to her face and nose, as well as extensive soft tissue damage.

Her arm became trapped under the vehicle, forcing rescuers to cut her free.
She later underwent surgery to repair tendons in her left arm, as well as multiple reconstructive procedures on her face.
Amy spent two days in intensive care and a further five days in hospital.
She said she has no memory of the crash itself, only waking up in hospital.
Doctors treated her for severe trauma, including facial fractures and muscle damage around her eye.

Despite returning to work, she is still recovering and cannot yet exercise or spend time in the sun.
Amy said the ordeal has been the hardest experience of her life.
She said: “It wasn’t just the physical pain – it was feeling like I was losing my identity.
“I didn’t recognise myself anymore.”
The influencer admitted she previously ignored basic safety measures while driving.
She said she used to avoid wearing a seatbelt, but now always fastens it immediately.
Amy has been sharing her recovery journey online to raise awareness.
She said she hopes others can learn from her mistake.
