Yeferson Cossio, who boasts 12.5m Instagram followers, was allegedly filming the prank for social media content.
But he has yet to post the video after the airline Avianca banned him from the return flight and vowed to take legal action against him.
The prank took place on a flight from Bogotá in Colombia to Madrid, Spain.
The Colombian influencer allegedly used a fart machine that produced realistic flatulent sounds and an unpleasant odour.
According to reports, one female traveller was deeply offended by the stunt.
As a result, the airline has decided to take action against the influencer.
They said they plan to launch legal proceedings against him in a statement released yesterday (29 Mar).

They referenced section 8.6 of their terms and conditions related to “conduct that affects safety, comfort, order and discipline on the aircraft”.
They said the prank was carried out while the aircraft was flying over the Atlantic Ocean, on 11 March, during a part of the journey where an emergency landing was not possible to due to the distance to the nearest airport.
The company stressed that in a closed environment, with a pressurised air recirculation system, this type of act poses a direct risk to other passengers.
They also said that the influencer was seen activating the fart machine with the intention of eliciting reactions from other travellers in the cabin.

They added: “Avianca categorically rejects any behaviour that jeopardises the safety of its operations and compromises the onboard experience for customers and service personnel.”
As of today (30 Mar), Cossio has not issued a statement regarding the legal action announced by the airline.
He hit the headlines in 2023 when he underwent an “excruciating” leg-lengthening operation to be several inches taller.
The influencer, who used to be 5’8” (1.77m) tall, is now officially 6’07” (1.85m), as reported by Need To Know.
At the time, he told his followers: “I underwent the most painful surgery in the entire world.
“Just as it’s the most painful operation, it is also one of the most expensive.”
Cossio had to rely on the aid of crutches and a wheelchair to move around for over a year.

However, the tattooed influencer, who boasts a luxury lifestyle and fleet of high-end cars, said he is now back to normal.
Cossio, who comes from Antioquia, Colombia, said he wanted to undergo the operation because he broke both his legs in an accident many years ago and has never been right since.
