A 43-year-old mum and business owner has been found dead just one day after filing for divorce, as police investigate a suspected murder-suicide.
Officers were called to a home on Friday evening (17 April) to carry out a welfare check.
Inside the property, police said they discovered the body of a woman who appeared to have died from blunt force trauma, along with a man whose death appeared to be self-inflicted.
The man did not live at the residence in Herriman, Utah, police added.
The Herriman City Police Department have not officially released the identities of either individual.
However, family friends identified the woman as Lindha Paola Zerpa Lara, a 43-year-old mother and beauty business owner originally from Venezuela, according to PEOPLE magazine, which cited local outlet KSL-TV.
Friends Patricia Quinonez and Fabian Rapalino told KSL-TV the mum-of-one had been due to meet her estranged husband on the day of her death.

They said the pair shared a 10-year-old child, who was not at home at the time of the incident.
According to court records reviewed by PEOPLE, a person with the same name filed for divorce in Salt Lake County just one day earlier, on April 16.
It is not yet clear whether the man found at the scene is the same individual named in the divorce filing, Need To Know reports.
Lara was a master esthetician and the owner of Pao Glow & Beauty in Salt Lake City, according to her social media pages.
Police inquiries into the incident remain ongoing.
