A 22-year-old university student was killed when her boyfriend flipped their car during a street race.
Sara Gimenes Torres was in the front passenger seat when the vehicle overturned in the early hours of Tuesday (21 Apr).
Her boyfriend was driving and allegedly fled the scene after the crash, with his girlfriend trapped in the wreckage.

A third person, who was sitting in the back seat, sustained minor injuries and remained at the scene in Cariacica, Brazil, until police arrived.
Responding officers said Sara’s friend, who has not been named publicly yet, smelled of alcohol and they also found empty alcohol bottles inside the vehicle.
The friend could not confirm whether the driver had been drinking and could not remember his name, as they had met only hours earlier.
Sara – from Muniz Freire but living in Vila Velha – worked at a car dealership and was nearing the end of her pharmacy degree.

Her uncle Fernando Gimenes claims her boyfriend later contacted the family by video call.
He told local media: “He was in bits – crying, begging for forgiveness – said he was in love with Sara and asked what he could do.”
According to Fernando, he also asked if he could attend Sara’s funeral, but her father refused.
The boyfriend, whose name has not yet been released, was still at large at the time of the latest update, as reported by Need To Know.
Police found the car overturned in a drainage ditch in the central reservation between the two carriageways, with a damaged streetlight pole beneath the vehicle.
Sara was taken to hospital but did not survive her injuries.

Fernando said: “Sara was always a gentle person, and hardworking at the same time – very dedicated.
“We were so happy because she came from a humble family, but she worked hard to study, get a job and make something of herself.
“She was due to graduate in the middle of the year.”
He added: “Always a happy, cheerful person – if you look at all her videos, you never see her sad, never see her complaining. It’s a loss we can’t even begin to measure.”
The case remains under investigation.
