An ex-footballer has been found dead in bed by his wife after apparently suffering a sudden heart attack.

The 44-year-old was discovered lifeless by his wife Elisa Zorzetto at their home in Treviso, Italy.

Despite the prompt arrival of emergency medical services at the family home, paramedics were unable to resuscitate him.
The local authorities said he was struck by a “sudden illness” during the night, apparently causing cardiac arrest.

He had no known prior health problems, leaving family, friends and the local community in shock.
Antonio was a prominent figure within the Treviso Bar Association and worked alongside his father, the esteemed criminal lawyer Roberto Campion, at their historic family law firm.
Before establishing his legal career, he was a gifted athlete who rose through the ranks of the AC Milan youth setup during the 1990s, as reported by Need To Know.
While he was once regarded as a promising footballing prospect for the Serie A club, he eventually chose to follow the professional path of his father.
He worked at the Campion Corsi Carestiato firm in Treviso, the same practice where his wife served as a secretary.

In a statement, the Treviso Bar Association expressed “profound shock and grief” at the loss of a colleague valued for his professional integrity and vibrant spirit.
Friends and associates in Treviso described him as an active, “sporty” individual who remained deeply integrated in the city’s social and professional fabric.
Antonio, who used to play football as a central defender, is survived by his wife and a 14-year-old daughter from a previous relationship.
He would have celebrated his 45th birthday on 14 May.
Funeral arrangements are expected to be announced shortly, with a significant attendance anticipated from both the legal fraternity and sporting associations with which he remained closely connected.
