A terrified Brit claims he missed his £110 flight after allegedly getting the “bomb squad” called on him at the airport.

The start of Ralph Smith’s trip was a blast after his layover was delayed when security suspected he may be travelling with explosives.

Ralph claims his carry-on luggage was swabbed three times before the team searched him and asked a series of detailed questions.

He posted his outrage online in a clip that has racked up over 79,600 views.

“I’ve just gone ahead and missed my flight because they thought I had explosives on me,” Ralph, from High Wycombe, told Need To Know.

“They actually called a bomb squad on me.

“They said, ‘We think you have explosives on you’, and I’m like, ‘Well I definitely don’t’.

“So the bomb squad comes down, they have to search me and everything.

“Whilst all this is going on, I’m stressing because I’m about to miss my flight.”

Ralph landed at Stockholm Arlanda airport on 28 April.

The travel content creator was set for a 40-minute layover before catching an SAS flight to Helsinki.

However, after being trapped by security until 10.40am he was finally cleared to go through with five minutes left before his gate closed.

Despite sprinting to catch the flight, the Brit was too late.

Ralph also claims the SAS rep he spoke with wouldn’t organise a replacement flight, allegedly saying it was “not their problem”.

He was reportedly asked to pay £250 for another ticket himself.

Ralph said: “Why me man, why me?”

He added: “I have no bag, no flight, what am I meant to do, seriously.”

Thankfully, Ralph was able to recover his bag from a special luggage sector in the airport before booking a later flight to Helsinki.

Viewers have been left shocked by the situation.

One person said: “That’s insane.”

Another person added: “This is why you always keep an Air Tag in your bag.”

Someone else said: “There are worse places to be stranded in than Sweden though.”

One person added: “SAS should be helpful in this situation.”
