A professional escort has claimed modern men no longer know how to date and says dating apps are to blame for turning romance into a “disposable” experience.

Elizabeth Romanova, who has worked as an escort for more than a decade, says she has witnessed a dramatic shift in dating culture over the years.

The mum-of-one, who is in her early 30s, says modern dating has become “messy” because people no longer make genuine connections and instead “just scroll and move on”.

Elizabeth, from Northamptonshire, regularly meets clients who are struggling with traditional dating and are increasingly turning to paid companionship instead.

Her clients range from men in their early 20s to those in their late 50s, although she says most are older, established and “know how to treat a woman properly”.

“It’s very fast and very disposable,” Elizabeth told Need To Know.

“People don’t invest in the same way anymore.

“There are too many options, not enough intention, and a lot less honesty.

“Ghosting has basically replaced communication.

“They’ve lost the plot!”

Elizabeth believes many men now lack confidence when dating, overthink interactions or simply no longer know how to connect naturally without expectations.

She says the rise of social media and dating apps has played a major role in the change.

Elizabeth said: “[Apps are] not killing it, but definitely cheapening it.

“Everything feels more disposable now.

“Everyone thinks there’s always someone ‘better’ just one swipe away.

“People are also more guarded now, less willing to be vulnerable and more focused on protecting themselves.”

According to Elizabeth, more men are now choosing paid dating experiences because they offer simplicity and clarity.

She said: “There are clear expectations, no games, and no emotional stress.

“A lot of the men I meet are successful but tired; they don’t want confusion, they want ease, respect, and a guaranteed good experience.”

Elizabeth, who advertises her services on Vivastreet, says men struggling with dating should start by being honest about what they actually want.

She said: “Stop trying to impress and start being real.

“Don’t underestimate how important consistency is.

“It’s often more attractive than grand gestures.

“Modern dating is messy for everyone right now, but the people who stand out are the ones who are clear, calm, and intentional.

“That’s rare now and very attractive.”

She also claimed many men have forgotten the true meaning of dating, insisting that “effort, attention, and proper courtship” are becoming increasingly rare.

However, Elizabeth believes “the right men still understand it”.

She says men should put in “real effort” by planning dates properly, communicating clearly and genuinely listening.

Elizabeth also warned that the dating world is now “splitting in two” – between relationships that are “casual and empty” and those that are more meaningful and intentional.

She also raised concerns about people turning to AI for emotional connection.

The dating expert warned: “AI might fill a gap for some people, but it will never replace real chemistry.

“That’s what people truly crave.”

Elizabeth also urged men to watch out for “red flags” while dating.

She said: “Women who expect everything but don’t give much back.

“A lack of appreciation, poor communication, or a constant need for validation.

“Also, when intentions aren’t clear from the start.”

Her final piece of advice was for men to focus more on real-life interactions instead of hiding behind screens.

She added: “Confidence is attractive, but emotional intelligence is what keeps a woman interested.

“Take a break from the apps.

“Focus on your real life – your energy, your presence, how you carry yourself.

“You’ll always do better in person than behind a screen.”
