Shocking footage shows the moment a man desperately chased after suspected thieves after a car smashed through the front of a Lidl before fleeing the scene.
The dramatic incident unfolded at a Lidl store on Baldock Street in Canning Town, East London.
Video filmed by a neighbour in a block opposite shows a black car reversing through the supermarket’s front window, leaving a trail of shattered glass and debris.

Two people can then be seen climbing back into the vehicle before making their getaway, as reported by Need To Know.
In the footage, a man wearing shorts rushes towards the car and appears to kick it as it attempts to flee.
He then leaps through the smashed window and sprints after the vehicle as it speeds away from the scene.
Despite his efforts, the driver accelerates out of the area, leaving the man to return to the store and inspect the damage.
Broken glass can be seen strewn across both the pavement and the shop floor following the incident.
The footage was recorded on 30 May.
Members of the public reacted with disbelief after the video was shared online.
One person said: “Who the hell raids Lidl? Has it gone that bad?”

Another viewer added: “All the cakes were stolen.”
One user said: “Obviously it was a Thursday, so they could get the new middle aisle deals earlier.”
One person commented: “They got away with a loaf of bread, bin bags, a tent and reduced Easter eggs.”
And another viewer added: “Desperate for some camping chairs and knock-off crocs.”

Jam Press has approached the Met Police and Lidl for comment.
