A mum-of-three cancer influencer has died aged 34 after losing five family members to the same disease.

Agnieszka “Emily” Kirchner, who was raising her children alone following her divorce, passed away on Sunday (14 Jun).

She was diagnosed with Li-Fraumeni syndrome – a rare hereditary disorder caused by mutations in the TP53 gene, which acts as a tumour suppressor – in 2016.

The condition significantly increases the risk of developing multiple types of cancer at an unusually young age.

In December 2024, Emily, then 33, was diagnosed with stage-IIIC ovarian cancer after seeking urgent medical care for unusual abdominal pain and bloating.

She documented her treatment journey for her 12,500 Instagram followers and 135,000 YouTube subscribers.

In her final heartbreaking message, posted on 18 May, she wrote: “I was doing so well for so long.

“Up until May 4th when I started throwing up that was accompanied by excruciating pain in my stomach and back.”

At the ER, doctors found a small bowel obstruction caused by one of her tumours pressing against her intestine and blocking it.

Emily revealed: “I’m preparing things for when I’m gone… I signed a will, advance directive, and other documents.

“I am writing things and doing some other for my children for later in their lives, so they always have me with them in some ways.

“Surreal. Totally surreal.”

Emily lost her mother to cancer when she was six. In 2017, she also lost her younger sister and only sibling, who was just 22, to the disease.

Her maternal grandfather and both maternal uncles also succumbed to cancer, as reported by Need To Know.

Emily moved from her native Poland to Georgia, USA, in 2013 without any family or support network.

She worked as an au pair before training as a midwife.

Prior to her ovarian cancer diagnosis, doctors found a cancerous polyp in her colon, resulting in part of it being removed.

She was also diagnosed with a “stable” brain tumour that did not cause any symptoms.

In 2016, she underwent a preventive double mastectomy followed by breast reconstruction.

In December 2024 – when she was 33 and her children were aged nine, six and two – she wrote on an online fundraising page to help pay for her treatment: “I can’t leave my children here alone.

“They’re too young to lose their mom like I did. I’m the only person they can rely on as a caregiver. I’ll do anything to make sure I’m there for them, no matter what.”
