A young footballer has died aged just 11 after a heartbreaking battle with an aggressive brain tumour.

Zosia Wymentowska had been fighting the illness since her health rapidly deteriorated earlier this year.

The Polish club Stomil Olsztyn Sports Academy announced the heartbreaking news on Thursday in an emotional tribute, as reported by Need To Know.

“She also enjoyed swimming and was doing well at school.

“Zosia’s health deteriorated rapidly at the beginning of 2025.

“She was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumour.”

Her parents, along with the football community in Olsztyn, launched a number of initiatives to support her, including raising money for her rehabilitation.

But despite those efforts she succumbed to the illness.
