A football-mad Argentine pilot asked his passengers to observe a minute’s silence for “dead” Egypt after the Pharaohs’ World Cup knockout defeat.
Hilarious footage shows passengers, several wearing Argentina shirts, listening intently as the captain addressed the cabin.
He can be heard saying over the aircraft’s public address system: “Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking.

“I’d like to ask for a minute’s silence for Egypt, because they’re dead.”
The cabin immediately erupted into cheers, with passengers punching the air and breaking into applause.
The jubilant scenes were filmed aboard a JetSmart flight in Argentina shortly after the final whistle blew in Tuesday’s (7 July) World Cup Round of 16 clash in Atlanta, Georgia.
Argentina’s dramatic 3-2 victory over Egypt, sealed in the dying moments of the game, saw La Albiceleste book their place in the quarter-finals, as reported by Need To Know.
One person joked: “What a lack of respect… They didn’t observe the minute’s silence.”

Another person added: “Argentine low-cost airlines are more like school buses than aeroplanes.”
And someone else said: “I always wonder, ‘How can people end up travelling right in the middle of an Argentina match?’

“But today I would have loved to have been one of those people and only found out after it was all over.
“At least I would’ve been spared the agony of watching the match.”
