A wayward seal pup has been rescued after being found stranded in a field around a mile from the sea.
The adventurous youngster had crossed two roads and wandered through several livestock fields before concerned locals spotted it and raised the alarm.
Marine mammal rescuers managed to reach the pup before it travelled any further and safely returned it to the coast.

The unusual rescue happened in Orkney, as reported by Need To Know.
A spokesperson for British Divers Marine Life Rescue said: “Not where you expect to find a seal.
“After travelling around a mile inland, crossing two roads and moving through several livestock fields, this lost Orkney seal was reported to our Rescue Hotline this week as a little lost.
“Our Marine Mammal Medics managed to find him, assessed him to be in good condition and safely relocated him back to a more suitable coastal location.
“The pup is marked with an orange spray, so if he is spotted again he will be easier to identify… and not because he’s been found somewhere else strange.
“An unusual journey, with a positive outcome.”
