A professional wrestler has died aged 48 after battling a serious lung infection for nearly a month.
Diana La Cazadora, real name Alma Corina Gutiérrez Villarreal, had been hospitalized in Monterrey, Mexico, and underwent a delicate operation.
Concern about her health first emerged on 21 July, when it was reported that she had been admitted to hospital with a lung infection.

She underwent surgery two days later, on 23 July.
Her daughter, Dalina, confirmed she had died on Saturday (8 August).
At present, publicly available information indicates that the wrestler, whose professional name translates as Diana The Hunter, died from complications related to the lung infection.
Originally from Ciudad Madero, Diana La Cazadora began her athletic training as a teenager.
She practiced Olympic gymnastics before later training in various disciplines related to professional wrestling.
She made her professional wrestling debut in 1997, as reported by Need To Know.
A significant part of her career was spent with Lucha Libre Femenil (LLF) and later Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL).
Among her main achievements were the Monterrey Women’s Championship, the LLF Junior Championship and the LLF Tag Team Championship, which she won alongside Nikki Roxx.
Away from the ring, Diana built a career in television as a traffic reporter in Monterrey.
Riding a motorcycle, she covered accidents, traffic jams and conditions on the city’s main roads.
During one of these assignments, she was involved in an accident that caused a serious leg injury and kept her away from professional wrestling for several months.
One fan wrote online: “I wish this were a horrible nightmare, but I know it isn’t. I saw her wrestle many times at the now-defunct Arena Coliseo in Monterrey.
“Rest in peace, Diana La Cazadora.”
