Two “inseparable” brothers killed alongside their 17-year-old pal in a horror car crash are to be laid to rest at a joint funeral.

Cavan Reilly, 23, and his younger brother Shea, 21, died with friend Elliott Szczepkowski when their car left a rural road.

The trio was travelling in a grey Seat Cupra Leon when it came off Denaby Lane in Rotherham, South Yorkshire.

Emergency services raced to the scene, but all three young men were pronounced dead, as reported by Need To Know.

Funeral plans have now been announced for the brothers, known as Cav and Shea.

Their joint service will take place at St Bartholomew’s Church in Maltby at 11am on Wednesday, 9 September.

It will be followed by a burial at Maltby Cemetery.

A family announcement described Cavan and Shea as treasured sons, brothers, grandsons, nephews, uncles and friends.

It said: “They were the love, life and strength of their mum and the heart of their family.”

Mourners have been encouraged to wear something comfortable or an outfit reminding them of the brothers.

The family said anyone wishing to attend in Berghaus clothing, shorts, or anything else associated with the brothers should feel free to do so.

The siblings also shared an enormous passion for cars, which friends said helped bring them even closer together.

A selection of vehicles will consequently be displayed as a special part of their celebration of life.

A GoFundMe launched following the crash has raised £9,227 towards an £11,000 target.

Organiser Jack Payne established the appeal to support the families with unexpected costs and financial pressures.

He described Cavan as hardworking, funny and caring, with a natural ability to make those around him smile.

Cavan was particularly close to his mum and was said to have placed his family and friends at the centre of his life.

Shea was remembered as a bubbly, warm-hearted young man whose happiness and laughter lifted the people around him.

The brothers shared what friends called an inseparable bond and were described as “best friends” and “partners in crime”.

Both could spend hours talking about cars and enjoying the shared interest with their friends.

Elliott, from Rawmarsh, was remembered as an inspirational and ambitious teenager with a “future full of promise”.

The 17-year-old loved spending time with his friends and had already begun pursuing a career in the Army.

A balloon release was held in Elliott’s memory on Cocks Field in Rawmarsh four days after the collision.

The fourth occupant of the Seat, another 17-year-old boy, survived the collision and was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The fundraiser said he had been extremely close to the three victims and was now facing unimaginable heartbreak and trauma.

Friends said Cavan and Shea had been like older brothers to him, while Elliott was his best friend.

The group had reportedly been travelling home after spending the day in King’s Lynn, Norfolk, when the crash occurred.

South Yorkshire Police said officers were called to Denaby Lane at 11.39pm on August 8.

The Seat had been travelling towards Kilnhurst when it left the carriageway.

An investigation remains underway, with detectives appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage.
