An ‘idiot’ driver was clapped off a beach after nearly losing their car when it was marooned on the sands outside a posh holiday hotspot.
The Seat Ibiza became bogged down before it was nearly submerged by the incoming tides.
A group of locals came to the rescue and managed to lift the car free, with the vehicle somehow able to drive off despite its waterlogged condition.

Onlookers then clapped and cheered as the driver left the beach.
The incident happened during school half-term holidays on Monday (October 26) at Polzeath, Cornwall, as reported by Need To Know.
Princes William and Harry were frequent visitors to the area for surfing trips in their younger years.
It is also a magnet for wealthy, privately educated teenagers who descend on the area when independent schools break up for the holidays.
Property prices are among the highest in Britain, with contemporary five-bedroom coastal homes fetching more than £3 million, while terraced houses in areas such as New Polzeath start at around £800,000.
But some observers were less than impressed by the driver’s antics.
One commenter, Andrew Lehurray, wrote: “The idiots keep doing it time to stop them going on the beach.”
Hugh Darlington added: “The problem with townies is that no one has ever explained tides to them”.
Nick Titchen joked: “Wow Polzeath is seeing all the muppets this holiday.”

Caroline Cumberlidge simply wrote: “Dumb”.
Melanie Schneider said: “Every year!
“People never learn!”
Richard Budd commented: “You can tell them til you’re blue in the face.
“But they come here once a year, and always know best.”
And Janet Brown added: “As Ricky Gervase says ‘you can’t cure stupid’.”
And Claire Redfern said: “These people have the vote?

“Worrying.”
While Paul Chamberlain said: “Dang, brain not working again.”
