The young French woman was diagnosed with sarcoma CIC-DUX4, a rare soft-tissue cancer, in September 2025.
CIC-DUX4 is considered an ultra-rare sarcoma, which are classified as affecting less than one in every one million people.

She was a medical student in her fourth year at university in Lille, France, and had dreamed of becoming a doctor.
Despite repeated failed treatments, chemotherapy and hair loss, she refused to let the illness control her life.
Her last social media post, just a week before she died, showed her preparing for another 324 hours of chemo with her usual humour.
She had more than 19,000 followers on Instagram and 52,000 on TikTok, where some of her videos racked up millions of views.

In a statement, her family described her as radiant, ambitious, loving, warm and talented.
They added that she is not an isolated case and called for greater support for research into rare cancers.
“Today Anouk rests in peace and continues to live through us,” the message concluded.
“Value every moment and all the joys that life offers you.”

She originally came from Revin in the Ardennes region of northern France.
A funeral service is due to take place on Thursday at the Notre Dame church in her home town, as reported by Need To Know.
Her family have asked for donations in her memory to support sarcoma research at the Institut Curie.
