As the nights draw in and the cosy season kicks off, one British brand is making bone broth harder than ever to ignore.
Borough Broth, the organic bone broth producer that started out selling at local markets, has moved into foodservice for the first time, bringing its slow-cooked recipes to chefs and restaurants.
The brand has teamed up with Natoora, which supplies seasonal, responsibly sourced produce to professional kitchens, as its launch partner.
It’s the latest step for a brand that has already won a place on supermarket shelves, most recently launching its first-ever gravy range in more than 200 Sainsbury’s stores in September.
But you don’t need to be a chef to get the benefit.
I’ve been testing another of Borough Broth’s products – the frozen broth cubes – at home, and they’re a really easy way to add a bit of wellness to everyday meals this winter.
First things first: they pop out of the packaging really easily.

That’s always my biggest pet peeve with frozen items, trying to get them out of the package.
I chucked them in my air fryer with chicken and slowly cooked it, and you can use them in a stew just to add a little bit of wellness to it.
They taste really nice and they’re not overwhelming, which I really liked.
I’m not huge on soup or broth on its own, so being able to add it to a dish and benefit from the nutrients is preferable to me.
I even put a cube in my bolognese as flavouring, and I’ve added them to a variety of sauces.
It’s quite a versatile item, which is great.
Borough Broth’s organic bone broth cubes come in chicken and beef.
The chicken version is made with 40% free-range organic British chicken bones, while the beef uses 38% grass-fed organic British beef bones.
Both are slow-cooked for hours into a double concentrate, then frozen into cubes.

Each pack contains nine 20g cubes, which can be stirred into a risotto or ragu, used as a soup base or turned into gravy.
They’re available from Ocado and Waitrose, in store and online.
Borough Broth’s new catering range was unveiled last week.
It includes 2.5kg pouches of its Organic Chicken Bone Broth and Organic Beef Bone Broth, both double concentrated to give chefs a flavour-packed base without the time, space and resources needed to make broth from scratch.
The brand is also offering both broths in ready-to-use 1kg pouches, which can be sipped as a warming drink or used as a base for soups and other dishes.
The broths are Soil Association certified organic, made with bones from British organic farms and produced in small batches at the brand’s West London kitchen, using the same recipes as its retail range.
Founded 11 years ago, Borough Broth is now one of the UK’s fastest-growing organic, B Corp-certified and women-built brands.
