A smelly mushroom shaped like a penis is seen bursting out of the ground.
The stinkhorn fungus commonly grows near rotting wood and is infamous for its horrendous pong.
Growing with a bell-shaped cap and long stalk, the mushroom emerges from an egg-like base, looking distinctly like a willy.
Shot over the course of three weeks, the time-lapse shows the fungus shooting out of the soil and drawing in flies with its foul stench, feasting on the slime it oozes for 10 hours.
It ends up 10 inches long.
“The smell of stinkhorns has been described as similar to decomposing flesh, rotting faeces, and sewage,” said a University of Florida spokesperson.
Despite the disgusting smell, it’s possible to eat the stinkhorn, with many people saying that when eaten in its egg state it tastes delicious.
The remaining stalk, known as a corpse finger, rots and topples over, before disappearing back into the ground.
It was filmed by the Reguinalforstamt Soest-Sauerland, the government forestry office in eastern Germany.
One local Tatjana said: “Only one second that takes until you realise this is a mushroom and it’s not… actually a pretty disgusting life that this rotten moron has.
“You have done it once again, showing it exciting and entertaining. You guys are just great.”

“They stink so bad but a corpse smells different again,” said Sabine.
Another person added: “I see something completely different than a mushroom.”
