A man has shared his incredible home covered in 23,000 Christmas lights, which he synchronises to different songs every week.

Daniel Renwick has been putting on a show for his neighbours every December for the last four years.

What started as a hobby for the 43-year-old has now turned into a painstaking mission – with each song and light sequence taking up to 100 hours to organise.

Now, Daniel is well known for his shows and they’re a big hit with his family, friends, and neighbours.

“[After a few tough years for people across the globe, I thought], I’m going to build a Christmas light display for our community to help bring back some cheer and the spirit, and it has been greatly supported,” Daniel, a pilot from Banora Point, Australia, told http://NeedToKnow.co.uk.

“Doing the show is my way of giving something back.

“Some of our neighbours watch it more than we do and will go outside every night with their chairs and watch the show with their family.

“When you see all the smiles on everyone’s faces and how much joy it brings, then you know it is all worth it.

“Planning where you want things and how it is going to be mounted, such as drilling into brick walls, takes many months of careful planning.

“Then there is getting all the equipment required and actually installing it and programming the show.

“I have been able to make a lot of it so that it is relatively quick to install.

“It takes me a week to put everything up.

“My wife helps me install a few things, particularly when it comes to having to drill anything into the house and coming up with some ideas of where and how we should put the lights.”

Daniel has no electrical or computer programming background, so learned all his skills from watching videos online, and getting support from like-minded people online.

He starts preparing for his December lights in October.

Daniel said: “The first year in my show I started with 3,500 lights.

“This year, I have around 23,000 and I also introduced four moving heads last year.

“To sequence a three-minute song can take 50-100 hours.

“I also use an LED chip and I run the brightness around 20-30% to keep costs down, meaning it costs me under $25 AUD (£13.05) for the month.”

Daniel is surrounded by fans in the neighbourhood.

He added: “The entire community absolutely love it and they can’t wait each year for it to start.

“Whenever we are outside there are always people walking or driving by and they pull over and can’t thank us enough for what we have done for the community.

“We are very conscious of our neighbours and each year we have been putting letters through their letter boxes with our contact details in case there are any issues and we invite them all to a show and we all get together for a drink and catch up.

“We respect them, so we make sure our show is non-offensive and it doesn’t run very long at all, from 8 pm-9 pm.”

However, Daniel also plans to do a bigger show closer to the big day.

He said: “I do run a show on Christmas night, but there are usually not a lot of people that turn up as they have all settled in with their families for the day.

“The weekend before Christmas and Christmas Eve are always the busiest.

“Unfortunately last year it rained, so it certainly scared a few away, but I was amazed with how many turned up with umbrellas to support us still.

“I try to cater for everyone’s taste in music, so while it is predominantly Christmas music, I do mix in other music such as music for kids like Bluey or it could be music from Disney movies.

“I’d say the most popular one is a mix of Star Wars songs.

“This year I will also be introducing a sequence that I created which is the song, A Sky Full of Stars from the Sing 2 movie and I know it is going to be a big hit.”
